Like that, might even get the wife down the lotte for a bit of harvesting. The only reason I get the grandchildren down is because I tell them I have a chocolate bush.

am I jealous or what!

I've never managed to get any of the £1 coins I've sown to even germinate...  :x

The pound coins are known to have a poor germination rate, not sure why but when the coins replaced the notes, pound harvests dropped right off and no one (yet) has managed to come up with an explanation beyond the difference between the metal and paper seed.  It may be some kind of fungus that prevents the coin from germinating, certainly I have found rust to be a problem particuarly last year after the floods.  I gave up this year and stuck to the more usual stirling tree as shown in the video, not as good a crop though as he had, only a couple of tenners.  hardly worth the cost of the seed really, but it is perrenial so maybe it just needs a few years to mature.

Am still looking for a chocolate tree or bush but with a dog it might be a bit risky and costly in vet bills as he loves the stuff too.  finds the stirling a bit bitter so doesn't eat that!

When I was younger I helped my dad to plant a lightbulb tree.  We put a bulb in the ground next to our conifer and I believed for quite a few years that when Christmas came it was our planted bulb that made the tree light up in December.  My dad fell about laughing one day when I asked why the lightbulb wasn't growing that year.  I feel so stupid now when I think about it.  :(
