Is it just me, or are mushroom kits super expensive??

I worked in a mushroom farm when I was in Australia, and I love mushrooms, we all do!

So I thought I would grow some. I have a lovely dark Shed with no windows which would be a perfect growing place, no heating in their, nice and damp and dark... but I can not find any mushroom kits for a reasonable Price

My late Father grew mushrooms at Harby.I think you will need some heating in the winter.I have also seen them for sale at Parkers Bulbs near Ruskington.

Why not buy the spawn and grow on well-rotted manure? Much cheaper than kits

They seem expensive too, maybe I am looking in the wrong places.

I brought a proper mushroom kit two years ago and it did nothing even though I followed the instructions like a bible.

This year I picked up a pack of mushroom seeds from mole valley and they are doing well, the white strings have developed and we are just about to top of the soil for the next stage
