Just about to say the same thing. I used a flannel as a sort of wick in the waterso that it increased the surface area without there being a big pool they could drown in.

There we go knew it was around somewhere

I've just found a link showing how to calibrate a hygrometer, so I will give that a go.

the wick worked for me...*VBS*.... 6 out of 8!!

checked o/n with the hygrometer and this morning it still said 37%, when it should say about 75%. So I am sending it back. Gone out and bought a cheap mechanical one (£3.19). This one appears to work a lot better.
