Hi Chickadee

Firstly I'm no expert so prob best wait for one to pop up :)

But I have had similar with one or two of my hens when they've been new, i've just put it down to the stress of moving as they've perked up again within a day or two :)

To answer your question...a lot of the more experienced chicken keepers definitely use garlic powder (in their food if I remember correctly...)which they buy in bulk from horsey places..so I agree with you Yolky.

But as I only have 2 chickens I just put a garlic clove in their water once a week or so, and leave it in the container until they peck it out. I only crush it slightly with the side of a knife to let the flavour out though. That works fine as well!

I cut that from another thread :)

Also adding apple cider vinegar available from fees stores is useful for keeping digestives systems tickety -boo. I use it for 4 weeks out of 5. Every now and then I add crushed garlic cloves just a couple to their drinking water this is a good natural additive for their immune system.
Love to see pics of your chooks, it is the law here!!!
