Taking a more philosophical look on things surely the reason that we have all evolved into the species that we are is due to the key rule of evolution i.e. survival of the fittest. In times gone by this would have meant the stongest, cleverest people, best able to adapt to their current environment, would have the best chance of surviving and carrying on their own particular genetic traits.  In a similar manner to the way we weed out the weaker seedlings, leaving only the strongest.

What is happening is that our society are compensating for all the shortcomings that would historically have meant that those not so fit people would not have carried on through the future gene pool.  The obvious conclusion is that by pandering to the types who are not the sharpest tools in the box (i.e. people who dry their hair with a hot air gun and burn themselves to death!) we are going against the key principle of survival of the fittest and will inadvertantly cause the downfall of our society as we know it.

I'd like to hear people's thoughts.

What's probably also becoming obvious is that I'm in work, I've got half an hour to go and I'm getting bored!

Half of my job is 'Health and Safety' or "Health and Danger" as I refer to it. It's all bollocks. You simply  can't risk assess a job - you have to risk assess a person - oops sorry - that's discrimination! But if they have got two braincells rather than 10 or 10 million the risk increases and so it is with the morons who are making sure we have perspex greenhouses to ensure they are not injured whilst throwing stones into the said greenhouses or fall over barbed wire whilst trying to nick our hard grown veg. And all this from politicians who are caught for having affairs: fiddling the books: fiddling the expenses; fraud; corruption; call an election purely to boost their ego!;; sorry I should stop before I am sued or H & S grab me somewhere uncomfortable and re-assess the issue.
Keep growing folks but watch out if you complain about the above things 'cos it will most likely be  blamed on YOU!

tell em u will be happy to do it when they

1) give u a grant for the cost
2) provide cctv and fulltime security guard to prevent vandalism

All part of a cunning plot to get rid of allotments. Local Authorities don't like allotments. Think of the money they could make by selling the land for development. They tried this in Edinburgh but failed!
