Need ideas on covering my mini greenhouse

MKHenry kindly gave me a lean-to greenhouse, which is incomplete and I can't glaze it.

Perspex might cost too much but would be ideal.  I have some strong, clear plastic, the kind new furniture is wrapped in.  My idea is to fix wooden battens to the frame and staple it on.  Would this work and do you have any better ideas please.

I also need to cross brace the roof so the door opens more easily.
Cheese makes everything better.

I made a temporary timber lean to much the same as that last year and used thick polythene from b&q. As you say, stapled it and it lasted all summer into autumn.

Could you cross-brace with a couple of battens too ? Might stop the plastic flapping in the breeze.

I might bite the bullet and get perspex for the roof which would mean I wouldn't need to cross brace, depends if I can find any cheap enough.  At the moment, if you open the door the roof distorts.

It looks like the wooden battens will work then, so unless some bright spark can improve on that I'll give it a go.

Thanks Rob

I just ordered a few metres of the P49 PVC Glass clear PVC on this page, it came today and looks v stiff and durable without being a nightmare to put together.  I plan to use it to go over the waterpipe/2x2 cloches I'm going to make.

I did some thinking (for a change) and worked out a way to glaze it with glass.  It's a bit Blue Peter but it might just work.  Can't afford to buy those rubber strips you rest the glass on so I did a bead of exterior silicone sealant and let it dry before I glaze it tomorrow.

If it werks, I'll post a photo. If it doesn't, I'll keep it to myself.
