hi there great news about the chicks! we hatched ours and we used a 60 watt bulb over a curver box, we put newspaper in bottom then a layer of sawdust, when they were about 4 weeks old (and weather was warmer) we changed it to a 40 watt . by the time their bodies were feathered they didnt need the lamp so much and they were moved into a dog cage before going outside at about 12 weeks, all 3 are now 14 weeks old and doing well! good luck with your brood here is pic of 2 of our girls at a day old
