OK, so I know it's too late in the season to start planting things like cucumbers. But I'm wondering: can you grow Israeli cucumbers (the small ones, bit like pickling cucumbers) in the UK? Haven't seen anyone talking about them. I prefer them to English cucumbers as they aren't as watery... anyone ever tried them?

You don't mean gherkins do you?  As in Mrs Ellswood's haimishe?  If so, I don't think they're Israeli.
