When do you plant Potaotes for over Christmas, and which is the best sort and also where is the best place to get them from,?  they are for planting in a tub... im totally nee to growing spuds...    thanks

I was wondering about this as well. I did a search and the consensus seemed to be to plant them out mid to late august and keep them protected from frosts. My plan is to plant them in a large tub outdoors then move into my unheated greenhouse just before the first frosts and protect them with fleece as the weather gets colder. I am going to use some pink fir apple that I am cropping now for seed.
