Can i have a quick gloat, i have carefully tended my tomatoes, chilli's peppers and aubergines since mid Feb. so its a long time coming.

Yesterday, whilst doing my morning '5 a day' with my 2 yr old daughter, (we walk around the garden and eat anything that's ready) mange tout, peas, raspberries, strawberries, red and blackcurrents, we added the first 3 ripe cherry tomatoes to our list.  As sweet and juicy as the raspberries!
A truly fantastic way to get the freshest fruit and veg into my little one.

I also have handsome sized peppers and chilli's and my aubergines have flowered just in time for me to help pollination before we go on our hols next week.

Thanks Aggie and peapod. I knew growing your own was a good way to get little ones interested in veg, but my girl is almost a 'pest' in her own right.

She's itching to get out in the garden to give the hens her left over porridge and get as fast as she can to hoover up the raspberries. I spent an hour the other morning harvesting and tidying up the peas and mange tout, and she must have eaten half a pound of peas.

She's beginning to understand that we have to wait for some things to go red, or get bigger, or fat, but patience is not something she's blessed with just yet!!
