Curling Cabbage

Hi all nice day on the plot but have a problem the first photo cabbage were planted
early may and are good :)

The second lot below planted mid June all are curly with grey marks and no heart  can any one help :(

I think you'll find some form of insect, probably aphids, or maybe even caterpillar eggs, where the curl is.

Bit too soon to expect June planted cabbage to have hearts.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
