Today's Harvest - our very first!
« on: June 29, 2008, 17:52 »
Hello everyone.  Its strikes me that it is a "right of passage" to post a picture upon ones first harvest.

This is my first harvest - quite impressed.

Thanks

Hopefully you should be able to see something now. Two lettuce, potatoes and carrots.

Its not much but I am chuffed - since I posted the original message it has since been eaten, very nice too....

Thanks

Those carrots look FAB! I tried growing some in a polystyrene box, sadly, they did not do anything at all.  :(

Well done though, I cant wait until I can post my 'first harvest' pics :D

Hearty congratulations Raisedbed!

Could you tell us what the varieties were of the lettuce (looks like a Cos), spuds and carrots?

Thanks for all the positive comments! Both the carrots and potatoes tasted great last night.

As to what varieties they all are I don't know.  Most of what I have planted has been pilfered from the father-in-laws shed when he's not been looking!
