Hiya, one day I would love to get an incubater and try hatching a couple of eggies, trouble is if they end up being little boys what to you do with them as I couldn't keep a cockerel where I live and I know they're not that easy to re-home.

It is a difficult one and needs planning.
I try and pair the boys with a pullet or 2 then sell as a trio. I am able to keep some cockerels anyway it just means keeping an eye on things!
Some breeds do crow very young -a couple last year crowed at 7weeks old. My favs dont crow till quite late though but thats because they are put in young with older cocks.
A lot of people will eat surplus cocks too, particulary the big breeds at around 5months.
The thing is which isn't so nice is that when you buy commercial hybrids most of the boys will have been identified at day old and disposed of.

You can get auto-seed birds ie: Rhode Island Red x Light Sussex and at birth you will be able to identify the males from the females and do the deed on the males so to speak
