No. You can use blood, fish and bone and/or pelleted chicken manure. There are plenty of organic liquid fertilisers in the supermarkets now, or best of all use comfrey tea or manure tea. (Get a bin, put leaves or manure in an onion bag, hang in water, dilute the resulting liquid and use it on yer toms). This is smelly but good.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
