I am pretty new to all this veg growing lark and am definately enjoying myself! Its the first year i have had a chance to grow my own and decided to go for runner beans as they are 'supposed' to be easy..  :?

So i made my support and planted my plants. Some of them have gotten the right idea and are climbing, but others have stopped and have started flowering already and they are only maybe a quarter of the way up the 7ft support. Is this going to be ok? Will they keep climbing or should i replace with new plants?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd stick with them, very unusual for them to stop. I take it they look healthy otherwise?

Yes they look pretty healthy. They did have an attack of the killer slugs a while back but have overcome that with pellets for now. I am wondering whether maybe the tips have been munched by the slugs and this has caused them to stop? and should they be flowering already? i thought they would get to the top of the support and then flower.. maybe this isn't the case.
