Ok, so i might know a shed load about compost, but I know far less about vegetables.

So I dunked a load of radish seeds in a 15" pot, as per the instructions on the packet, and they have come up like a forest. It says on the packet that you thin them out till you have a plant every two inches.

This seems a rather unnecessary and extravagant waste of plants, since i'd end up chucking 95% of them away they were so thick, so instead  i carefully broke the clump open and pricked the little radishes (2 inches high with 2 or 4 leaves) into millions of troughs (well six actually) and in the gaps in between all the brussel sprouts.

Was this a good plan or am i doomed to failure on this ?

I cannot believe it said that on the packet.

I sow mine, one per inch in the infamous cat litter trays. I use 96 seed per tray and get nearly 96 radishes!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I have a feeling that they are not mad keen on transplanting, but it sounds like you'll have more than you can eat before they get woody and nasty, so even if half of them survive you'll have enough to eat.

Just wait and see, you won't have to wait too long.
