can i put polytunnels up now? will they warm the earth ready for planting? should you sew peas under cloches or ina poly tunnel??
told you i'd be full of questions :D

HI TALI,I WOULD WAIT A FEW WEEKS YET,WINDY WEATHER IS FORECAST.YOU WILL ONLY SPEND YOUR TIME CHASING THEM AROUND YOUR PLOT.AND YES THEY WILL WARM THE GROUND THOUGH YOU WILL HAVE TO CLOSE OFF THE ENDS

if you want to warm the ground just put the fleece r ploythene on the ground flat and weight it down with soil or bricks,but like beansticks says its to early yet.
same for yer peas i would wait til march or you could try sowing some in pots in a greenhouse for a head start.

or if your greenhouse isnt warm enough,get some pots or trays  going on your window sill.

lots wind to come yet as already said , no worries you will have your tunnel up and it wont take long to warm the soil up inside it ,mid - end march wil be better  :D

Beansticks, please take of your caps lock, it looks like you are shouting at us!!! lol

I've got a polytunnel, but the only thing I've got in there at the moment apart from a few of last year's chillies are a pot of potatoes, but I have that covered in fleece as well and the ones that are in my little greenhouse are extra protected from the frost because I bubblewrapped the inside of the greenhouse.

So don't be too eager.  Im going to try some onions accordng to the moon planting calendar for the first time, but they will be covered in fleece too for awhile.
