What if anything can be grown underneath while the beans are growing??
Seems like a lot of wasted space to have nothing growing there.

think this nhas ben answered in other munty frame post .for those growing french climbers ,you could do as i do and plant them and runners together the runers grow faster so allowihng the frenchies to get even more support as they grow ,just pick what you want when you want from one spot ..feed a bit extra liquid  fertiliser tho :wink:

I've got parsnips and lettuce and a few cabbage which the pigeons have eaten
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

I am growing courgettes at the base of my climbing beans. I read somewhere the red indians grew sweetcorn, beans and squash together. The bean grew up the stem of the sweetcorn or maize, and squash kept the ground sort of weed free. Very clever.
