Not any kind of expert but I have some climbing french beans and they are already at the top of the bamboo (6 foot).  I think it depends on whether you have the climbing beans or dwarf.  I dont think the dwarf ones get much above 2 foot tall. Again, someone with more knowledge will probably give you a better answer  :D

Oh no! I have some climbing beans in a big pot by the front door but with 3 foot canes making the wigwam, I'm not sure a 6 foot wigwam will work in the pot!!!

The ones I am growing are Cobra from marshalls.  On the packet it says "Support with canes and netting, ensure any structure is at least 6 foot high." Suppose it depends on what kind you have luckypurple.

Either them, or as before mentioned, dwarf French beans as a few feet tall, won't know otherwise than specified by variety.

Most grown though are almost as tall as runners, rest assured.

I've got both. Running variety are provided with 7' canes, so they have at least 6' to grow up.

Still waiting to know your variety, can't hold my breath much longer.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Ooops! Mine are Cobra...   hubby says he should be able to put a hook in the outside of the house with some string attached so they can climb up that when the canes run out. I could try swapping the canes for longer ones but the pots might be a bit unstable then

I've got both but I reckon I've mixed some up so it mixing them with the runners just in case they a hand up the canes if they don't then the  runners will use the spare canes - next time I will write on pots in permanent pen - you live and learn :)
