Hi! Live in Pac N.W. Roses have black spot -- won't use standard chems, as garden organically. What really really works? Thanks.

Hi happyhortic & welcome. No idea myself, but hopefully someone will be along to help.

Going to move this thread to a more appropriate forum, the one it's currently in is for things you can eat & I don't fancy black spot on toast for breakfast!

I don't think there is anything organic.  You have too make sure there is good air flow round the plants and make sure they're well fed with manure. Ironically since we have cleaner air we have more blackspot on roses.  

You have to collect any affected leaves and get rid of them but not in your home compost bin. Either burn them or bury them deeply.  Hard pruning roses helps apparently

Selecting blackspot resistant cultivars is now an option but doesn't help your affected ones but not much else to be done apparently

Armillatox, a winter tar wash for roses and fruit trees, is now unfortunately frowned upon but it used to be widely used
