What do you feed? And why?

Organic layers pellets available at all times but they will eat most things chucked in their direction! They have food scraps every night after tea (except for meat) they love mashed potato, spaghetti (chopped up) or any other pasta, bread (especially naan bread), any ageing fruit (strawbs, grapes etc). If there aren't any scraps after tea they'll get some corn, they also get any bits of greens etc from fellow lottie holders...basically they are well fed! I throw mixed grit down for them as they are in a large run so they can scratch around for it. They also get plenty of worms when we're digging (they tend to join in!) and anything else they can find when they ae let loose to wander the lottie.

They are very healthy looking ladies and lay well...so we must be getting it right.
