Have left me tatties too long?
« on: April 14, 2008, 20:09 »
Hi All.

Have a wee problem! Have found a couple of  packs of seed potatoes both of which have the long greenish routes coming out. Will they be any good to grow? I had been chitting them for about 5 weeks and forgot them, left a further 2 weeks. Usually they would have a purplish runner. not a long greenish one. Any ideas?
I am a complete idiot!!

Don't worry get them in when you can try not to break off the shoots but if you do they should resprout any way, so far this year I've only got my 1st earlies in grounds too wet where I am.

only got mine in today, one of my rows are marfona, which are chitted from a colleages sack of spuds from last year, not seed. They had started to shoot in the sack, i just left them in the light and the tips of the shoots shave turned into normal chits
