Just been down the lottie to plant out my parsnips that I'd done in toilet roll tubes. A little worried that any frosts will get them though.
After reading a few posts on here I was wondering what to do with the left over seeds as they don't store so i thought i'd sow a line direct.
put in one row of tubes then sowed a line direct, still left me with some seeds. Then as i was planting out the last row of tubes had a bit of a brain wave, just incase the frosts come and kill the seedlings if i put 2-3 seeds loose on the top of the tube when i plant the tube i'm actually sowing a back up.
Could have used the space taken up by the direct sown for carrots if i'd thought of this earlier.
may not be too late for someone else though. i'll try to remember for next year.
