Great - thanks everyone.
I just cleaned them up and laid them out to dry a little bit.
There's over 100 seeds there and it was a fairly small butternut.

You can also roast them in a little oil.  Season them as well and they're a tasty snack (but not for baby).

Just chopping up a butternut - half for my spinach and butternut cannelloni and half for baby food.

I wondered how you;d go about saving the seeds and growing form them??

Any thoughts on the matter?

we got ours from an asda butternut squash 2 years ago, dried seeds on kitchen paper and planted and got an abundance of butternut squash from 5 plants!!!! probably about 50 60 or even more saved seeds from one of them for this year  had no complaints so far
