Seedlings washed away
« on: April 09, 2008, 12:01 »
Ah well, at least the garden is getting a water :D   Thinking of building an ark, anyone want to rent a room???? :)   Hubbys got to go into the olive grove and make a channel to take the water away from the house- we have a lake right up to the house wall    I would go and dig too but I have no welly boots :(   I´ve got my hiking boots but I think the mud would go over the top of them    Last night with the high winds a big picture fell off the outside wall and landed on the dogs kennel, it gave them both a fright (we didn´t hear a thing) and they kicked up a fuss to come in, both refused to go back outside (can´t say I blamed them) they ended up spending the night intheir basket in the bathroom, not a peep out of them then :D

Didn't you have a big wash out in the past, too? Or am I making that up?

We have had an hour with no rain :D   the hens have dried out, daft things walk about in the rain- they can stay inside in the dry!!  They seem to like muddy puddles to drink out of.  The ´lake´ beside the house has gone down, hubby made a channel to take the water away to the ditch.  I had another look at the seedlings- there is 1 left, in about 2 inches of water!!  I´ll transplant it once the water has gone down so I can get close to it.  We are having to have the log burner going, it is drying out the rainwater that is dripping down the chimney    The cowl (?) on the top of the chimney isnt doing what it should and stopping the rain! Rain due to ease off tomorrow :D
