Which magazines do you buy? I have had a few Gardeners Worlds, but i hate it, as it has a tiny section on veg and 200 pages on pruning yer trees!!!

Cheers

Yep I agree grow Your Own is very good but also Kitchen Garden isn't too bad either.
Roses are red, violets are blue, sugar is sweet, and so are you.
But the roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head.

Yes I look forward to getting "Grow your Own". Ive also bought "Lets Grow Veg" but it is very expensive at 8 quid I nearly died when it went through the till but I had 10 packets of seeds with it. Though it did say they were free. Hmmm.
Oh for those halcyon days of England long ago

I don't bother with gardening mags, I buy a decent gardening book every two or three months. It works out cheaper and it adds to my collection. :D
He's my best buddy, my dog called Woody.
If it works, organic. If it don't, well.........??

I buy whichever has best seeds on - Amateur Gardener frequently  has seeds -  though probably more flowers than veg or herbs.

I find the occasional GW magazine interesting, not all, but at close to 6 quid here, it's pricey for us. The occasional Grow Your Own shows up here, but in a sealed bag so I can't thumb through it, drat. Now many of our own garden mags are around 4 quid with far too many adverts and too few articles, so like grasshopper, I'd rather invest the cost of 3 or 4 mags into a good gardening book for my library. Can't beat the latest Flowerdew, occasional Titchmarsh and that new guy, whatshisname - something Harrison

Feel fed up with gardening mags! just finished a subsciption to kichen garden cuz I couldn,t get it locally and had heard it was good but think now that all I need to know is on the net so decided to save my money
as for free seeds well they arn,t are they?could buy from a wider choice with the mag price, also fed up with hearing about plants that are in fashion and how we are all going to be able to grow tropicle plants cuz of globle warming .all jumping on the bandwagon if you ask me
WOW that feels better I,ll go and ave a rant at someone else now

I used to subscribe to Kitchen Garden but the editor changed and it didn't seem as good anymore plus subjects started being repeated so I didn't renew.

The subjects being repeated is actually quite reasonable, if you get a magazine for several years subjects will start to be repeated - there's only so many subjects to cover, so no complaints about that but no point buying the mag.

I bought one GYO and it was OK but nothing new.  I think that's my problem with mags, nothing new.  I tend to re-read the old ones, there were articles I didn't really read that thoroughly the first time around, as I wasn't trying that veg then.  Re-reading old mags is cheaper too!

I had GW for a long time with subscriptions bought by family/friends for Christmas.  I started saving and found how often they repeated themselves; albeit slightly different theme - afraid just like the programme I got bored with it.

Still got old ones that my sister and I pass back and forth for information; have tried other gardening mags at times - but find them too expensive just to post loads of adverts in.

Now I have discovered so much information on the internet; who needs them?
Everyday is the dawn of a new error...

I've been picking up Grow Your Own for the past 18 months I'd say. Nice mag and easy to just pick up for half an hour at bedtime. My wife just got me a subscription as a pressie along with a few binders to store them in.

I've also ready Grow It a few times recently. It's not as commercial and well polished as Grow Your Own but, actually, I think the general content is better.

I'd love to get hold of their marketing guys and shake them though - considering it is a new mag, the whole branding is dire. I know they say not to judge a book by it's cover but these guys would do so much better with a half decent logo and fresh look!!!
Good beer, good BBQ and good friends.
