Has anyone used net curtains for greenhouses? The wash on / off stuff seems a bit of a faff, but are nets any better / worse than other fabric stuff??

Not used net curtains, however I do use a fishing net.  Originally draped over greenhouse to prevent loss of polycarbonate glazing in high winds.  Also provides excellent shading.

I did use bubble wrap my first 'greenhouse year', but found that ordinary water based paint/emulsion, painted on to the glass is as good as anything, easy to apply, easy to clean off and does the job cheaply!  I am open to any suggestions that are an improvement on this  :!:

I've found that the stuff they sell as Windbreak netting works well.

It has a 30-40% wind breaking effect so it will presumably have a similar shading effect.

And it's easy to hang up as it has ready made eyelets woven in.

I used net curtains last year when it got really hot - did the job a treat and took about 5 mins to put up and 3 mins to take down! (and got them from ebay for about 50p)... am hoping I'll need to use them again this year, but it's not looking too likely atm, rain, rain and more rain.
