this is all good news to me as i hve not put anything in yet i have got my onions but only going out to get the pots this weekend, thinking of putting my leek seed into trays this weekend. well it is my first year on the plot so its a case of suck it an see. cant wait for johns book then i may find out if i am going wrong

I'm sowing leeks in May and June time, Andy, so don't worry about them, seed onion is getting a bit of a problem now, and as for sets, of course you can do, it's just the maturity timing depending on your local weather and garden space.

drdave, i am also waiting for sets from Marshalls, i have 100 or so already that i bought from the Range but will put them all in together when the sets from Marshalls arrive. Given the forecast i ain't gonna be worried about rushing to get em in this weekend.  Garlic planted last Autumn 4" tall and lookin good   trouble is the weeds look good too  :cry:
