Just put 36 tomato seeds in paper pots on every available window ledge (which are very narrow and above radiators) in the house, if this doesn't work..........

I'm buying plants

Some of the stuff in the propagator has gone mouldy so I'm giving up on it and it's far too windy to put stuff in the polytunnel today, in fact I'll be surprised if it's still there tomorrow.

Next year I'll buy a little greenhouse, it's a shame though as it's bigger than the greenhouse we're allowed but we can't bury it as there isn't enough headroom - watch this space.

I've run out of window sills so have taken over the dining room table now.  We'll have to slum it tonight and eat off our laps.  Took me ages this morning to go round and give everybody a drink.

To help prevent mould/damping off in a propagator try watering with a dilute solution of Hydrogen Peroxide, say a tablespoon of 9% vol H202 in a litre of water in a sprayer & water with that.

As Munty would say "werks for me".

I don't really understand my propagator, the temperature only seems to be 20 (no thermostat) but it steams up in there and I only water the seeds when I put them in the first time.

Mine all steamed up too and like you I only watered when I planted but mine are now all up or repotted and the lids are off.

It was only 20 degrees in the prop this morning (same as outside the prop) but soaking wet so I've taken the lid off - maybe the heat from underneath will still get things going, who knows, methinks it was a bit of a waste of money now!

I've got some stuff on windowsills too, how often should I spray the pots before they germinate please?  OH says every day.
