Have you tried Preloved Claire?  They have livestock sometimes.  I've sold some of my Amberlinks from there

Thanks for the info Babe and GrannieAnnie, have just spoken to Richard at Poultry Mad and he has Silkies for sale at a more reasonable price, £20 each.

Just have to have a quick chat to OH along the lines of "you know those fluffy chickens that we both liked, well i've found somewhere to get some from and they will be here by the end of the week"!!

Will post some pics when they arrive.

Most breeds of traditional hens will go broody at least once a year. You don't really need to pay anything like £20.00 for a silkie. Go to your nearest cattle market that has a poultry section and buy from there. There's really no need to break the bank. :lol:

I agree, you shouldn't pay as much as that! I bought mine from an auction market in Yorkshire and if I remember correctly only paid that for all 3!
