Staking broad beans
« on: Yesterday at 12:44 »
In John's latest post he talks about some method of staking broad beans - this year I forgot that I normally plant my broad beans in the lea of the runner beans and the stems just went everywhere as a result. So I would be interested in the method that John uses and not have to untangle all the broad bean stems when picking them.

Anybody kow what his method is ?

No idea of John's method. I stick canes in along the length of the row of beans, and then put string along the canes - one side of the beans and then round the end cane, and back the other side of the beans - at ever increasing heights.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
