Thank you all again. I'm getting on with the funeral arrangements and could do without my emails log in thingy which has gone doo-dahs up so having to get my computer chappie out today to get it sorted. BUM!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Very sorry to hear your sad news. Allow yourself to grieve, but as many others have said already, remember to look after yourself.

So sorry to hear your news GG - as everyone else has said, take care to look after yourself in the days and weeks to come. x
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Just to let you all know, his funeral was on Friday and it couldn't have gone better. Even the weather was beautiful and sunny with a little fresh breeze. The local pub did such wonderful food though we overestimated the numbers coming back. His plot is in a local churchyard and the dappled sun shone through the trees nearby. There's even a small bench so I can sit on it and reflect on all the happy times we had. I'm just having a rest for the next day or three before we get going with his estate. He was a perfectionist and would have been so proud of all of us.

So pleased it went well Goosey. You do right to take a few days to recuperate. (((Big hugs)))

It sounds like a perfect spot to take his ease, GG.

You are a strong person but do have some R&R for a while.

Well done, Goosey!

The funeral is a pivotal date, and a bit of a milestone to get past, but now, like you say, you have time to reflect, and hopefully even start to chuckle a bit!

Thinking of you...

Thank you all for your so kind words. I had to chuckle as my husband was fully attired in his number one shooting attire but I couldn't find a white shirt so he had a pink one! My cousin-in-law and his partner stayed with me the night before  but on the day he'd forgotten to pack his white shirt and, for some reason, I looked into the drawer under this bed and found five! Ooops!!!
