Hello,

I went to my allotment this morning and noticed our broccoli has flowers. Why is this and can I still pick it to eat it? Google says all different things...

Also any idea on the type of broccoli? We got it in a mystery pack so all it said was "broccoli"

It looks like you’ve left it too long before picking, but also that the plants weren’t very happy and have only made a small head. The one on the right is probably ok to eat, but the one with flowers is probably past it’s best.
