Appointments...
« on: July 12, 2023, 10:25 »
Good morning everyone,
a few days ago I lost a filling (about 60 years old) as it wasn't painful at the time it has been getting a bit uncomfortable.  Yesterday I called the emergency dentist and today I'm waiting to go for an appointment to correct the matter.

For the past months I have been suffering with regular bouts of Dhelli belly (I cannot spell that word), I have an appointment for a visit to the gastroenterology department "In about a years time".  I'll ask the dentist if they can do anything about my guts!

Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I had a similar problem some years back, my dentist discovered that there was an infection under the filling.

Paul had to have a jab yesterday  afternoon and while he was there they took his blood pressure.  The Nurse fetched his Dr. who advised him to stop taking one of the tablets he was on and get himself to the Hospital for blood tests 'tomorrow morning' (as in today).  His blood pressure had dropped apparently.  When Paul got to the Hospital the blood testing place has moved and yo u now have to have an appointment.  It always used to be get there when you can, join the queue and wait your turn.  We've never been told of this change and none of the people we've talked to today are aware of it either.  We    p resume Paul's Dr. didn't know either or he wouldn't have told him to get the tests done so quick.

As long as your husband has no other symptoms it should be simply a case of adjusting his medications, BUT, please, please make sure that he isn't feeling faint, or even having episodes where he loses consciousness for a moment or two, or even (because menfolk won't take to you about such things if they can help it) that his bowel movements are normal and aren't abnormally dark. If he is suffering from any of these symptoms, don't wait, but insist that he's seen immediately, either by his doctor or at A&E.

Don't talk to me about appointments!    After coming out of hospital last October my OH has been waiting for an urology appointment for his prostate which he was told would be within a fortnight's time - YEAH RIGHT! He's still waiting despite numerous phone calls since then to various departments and his GP.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Tony, there was no discomfort at all. Much as I dislike visiting the dentist at the first sign of any pain I'm battering the door down.  The dentist couldn't understand what had happened.
