Hmmm...
« on: August 13, 2022, 15:58 »
104.5f in our conservatory - hottest ever!

Just got back from walking the dog and am nadgered!

And we've got this blasted 'event' https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/hawkfest-22-tickets-292106768207going on about 100 yards away with inane 'thump thump, thump' and howling shriekings on stage, so with the windows all open for a draught it's not getting any better!

And I fell off my bike on Thursday going blackberrying and am severely grazed and my knee damn well hurts too!

Any danger of it getting better?

Make that 106f...!

Poor you too!

We may get some rain by Wednesday, so your dreams may well come true!

Just been down to the blackberries again, (very gingerly), and got another couple of pounds, so they'll do for now...

Is there really going to be rain or are we in the desert seeing a mirage??
FYI That’s not a jet but some sort of wet substance I believe it’s a long time since I’ve seen it so can’t be sure what it is.
Keep digging

I have to say that I was sort of ok during the last heatwave, but on Sunday last I didn't feel as if I actually belonged on this planet because I seemed to feel as if I was walking through water with great difficulty so, after a couple of cups of tea, I went back to bed, got up, then went back to bed until about 4pm when my body finally came back to terra firma. Mr G, in my absence as your personal SRN may I suggest a rubbing down with arnica. If she is not available just let me know and I'll see if Angela Snow is free!
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Aaaaah, Anneka!

Apparently they're resuscitating 'Challenge Anneka', and I read a few bits about her in the dead-tree press!

Her dad was well known (in my old business) as he worked for a big UK builder!

But if Angela is free...Hmmmmmm (or Ummmmmm);0)

Angela does charge a fixed fee, but seeing as it's you, she will do it for a bottle of Bolly.

Yer on!

You know my address and I'll make a special tincture cocktail on arrival!

BTW, the bruises are well on their way out now, and only the grazes attract much interest from small (big) dog now - thank goodness!

I must be more careful I suppose, but when Ms Snow is on the horizon, well, anything goes, doesn't it!

Well, I damned well hope so, even if it takes longer...

With the greatest of respect Mr G, Angela once tried your special tincture cocktail but, after she eventually recovered in A&E and had the tubing removed from her various orifices, she has never been able to finish the Times cryptic crossword in one day so you have a lot to answer for. Though she made a jolly good try at re-writing the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner, and also had a stab at Wordsworth's daffodils and Kipling's "If", I doubt very much if she will achieve enough claim to enable them to be published unless you and I can generate enough Wonga from selling your special tincture cocktail (the name of which has yet to be decided) and we get enough royalties from this exciting venture in order you can do your bucket list and I will go on another Hebridean Princess cruise.

Beware the Hebridean Princess cruise!

It's a known fact that several people fell foul of the whims of the waiters and senior staff - sometimes on a regular basis! Please think again, and consider the consequences of a return home with all that angst welling up inside - as well as the awful kippers they serve up at breakfast!

My leg and arm are healing nicely now - the mental scars remain, but will diminish over time, and anyway, Senora Growster says I'm still a clot for trying to skedaddle up the rutted path so fast!

If Angela Snow was anywhere near, she would have a run for the money, but not quite yet...

Ah, methinks you're getting mixed up between the much-hyped Hebridean cruise ads on the telly and the "Hebridean Princess" cruises. No way would GG go on one of those big ships where you have to take a map and a piece of string to find your way back to your cabin. The only angst I felt on leaving our cruise what that it was a most incredible and special once in a life time holiday which, unless I come into some unexpected wonga, will never happen again. Oooh, I've just had a word with Angela who said you need to get a bottle of Arnica and rub it on your bruises. Don't worry, I paid her advice fee 'cos you're a good chap whose health we all care about on here.  :) :nowink: ;)
