Oh dear fallen angel.....that is rather a long waiting list.Too old or even a dead fallen angel at that rate! Still, some of the top ones on your list might peg it in large numbers......or have alz\heimers by now and can't remember that they're actually on the list......

But just think, by the time we get these plots, we'll have soaked up so much knowledge from this site......

I do get cross when i go past the allotments and you can clearly see that people are apparetly growing brambles!

It makes me wonder if the council are actually checking that people are still working their plots or not?

I'm hoping my friend and i can get a private one this year we have had a tip off but i dont want to get too excited yet as there is nothing definate.

Im assuming that council run allotments are allocated on a yearly basis at the start of the new tax year? If so does the person in charge of allotments just send out renewal leters or actually go on site?

Sorry for taking over your thread hun your lottie looks great and im green with envy!

Fallen Angel our Council re-news its plot tennancies at the end of January. We first applyed back in August last year and after weekly gentle harassing of the lady at our Council we got given our plot last Friday.

There is a plot directly besides mine that is very overgrown, and to be honest i am delighted that we got the one we did! I met the previous tennant today as well who still has another plot on the site and is a great guy offering to help where he can.

I went back over to the plot today with my Father-in-Law and we managed to dig over half of one of the main beds. After an hour and a half we gave in, our backs gave in and we looked over our hard work in admiration. Hats off to the guys who have imaculate plots! Thats some hard work!

Now pass the Radox........................

Glen - congrats!! I love the head scratching by your father in law  :D   He so knows he is in for a tough ride!  He must bend at the knees and keep a straight back or else he will be knackered after a day and only be able to sit and watch the rest of you dig....while drinking a beer and reading the sundays...actually, he is a GENIUS  8)

Fallen Angel - persistent but pleasant pestering pays off.  I went to the site and made a list of everything not cultivated and eventually the lady managing the plots had enough of my sickly sweet calls and gave me a plot

Nice Lottie Glen, you will soon have veg growing in it. Dont over do the digging spells tho, a half hour each visit will do, you still have plenty of time to turn it over. And welcome to the site.  :D
I used to work in a helium gas factory, but I walked out, no one talks to me like that.
