Is this potato blight
« on: August 20, 2021, 15:00 »
Hi all
Just emptied mt potato tubs and a few have brown spots on them. The pix attached is the worst.
Is it blight.
If it is would they be OK to eat when peeled.
Thanks in advance.

That looks like a bit of scab to me, just peel it off and it’s good to eat. Blight makes them go rotten and they really stink. You’d know ;)

Yup looks like scab to me I used to get a fair few like that when planting potatoes in the open ground.
I just peeled them and used them without any problem they just don't look too appealing.
I've since switched to raised beds and potato bags and this appears to have solved the problem.
