In morrisons i bought 2 for £2 on packs of 5 chinese lanterns as i think they are sooooo pretty now on the pack it says good for the shade or full sun so im wondering has anyone got any experience with these?

Can i grow them in pots untill i know where i want them exactly?

Also do they spread?

As you can see this was an impulse buy lol

Don't grow them myself but you can hold most plants in individual pots until ready to plant out.
someone with experience will advise on their spreading.

I find them very invasive.  I started with one small plant and despite years of pulling them out i still find them all over the garden.  they are lovely when they have the 'lanterns' but apart from that I wouldn't be in a hurry to plant them again!

Oh thats not good then    do you think they would survive in pots for ever  then as i dont want them taking over!
