I bought some seeds earlier this year but the growing instructions say do not sow too early as they will bolt. I am now wondering if I have left them a little late to sow now,although we get very mild winters normally. I was thinking of starting them off in small pots in the greenhouse then planting them out once they have germinated. No problem with them forking is there?

I think you have everyone stumped with that one 

I have grown that type of radish, but never tried pots before.  It may fork them if you don’t keep sharp watch to see when the tap root gets to the base of the pot   

What about sowing them direct under a cloche instead.  You soil is probably still fairly warm compared to ours here and the cloche would just add a little extra protection to get them going.

I have just sown one seed per 40mm cell in the poly tunnel and as soon as they are away I will get them onto the ground and see how they go. The ground is not too cold so hopefully they will grow OK.
