I bought a box of what are described as dwarf beans from a very reputable supplier and they seem to be sending up a leader?? Has anybody grown these particular variety? Do these look like they are more likely to turn out to be pole beans? I think I am going to have to provide some support for them?

Purple Teepee beans grow like that, and then carry the flowers/beans above the foliage. So if yours are like Teepee they shouldn't grow much taller..

Variety is actually purple queen not princess described as dwarf  but the leaders have already reached  50cm and do not look like they are going to stop anytime soon. I think I will cut some bamboo and make a frame with just laterals and a vertical every meter or so. If they do continue to climb at least there will be something for them to grow through. I may be wrong and they will stop growing.

I will keep and eye on them. I have to say that the leaders they have sent up will not support the weight of a couple of beans
