better late than never?
« on: May 20, 2020, 08:45 »
having been held up with planting this season we although we managed planting  our early potatoes some weeks ago in tubs and some in raised beds however we have only just got round to planting our main crop because its taken some time to get the ground ready with other plantings going on

the variety we are growing this season is Kestrel second earlies according to our garden diary we planted  potatoes in my Daughters allotment on may 17th and they produced a good crop so fingers crossed we mite get some sort of crop?

Of course you will, just a bit later than normal - Kestrels are lovely potatoes, well worth waiting for  :D

Kestrels are easy going and also seem to resist slug damage, so I think you will get a worthwhile crop.  You can eat them as second earlies , or if they are still growing and have some summer left, they make a good main crop.  They store well too  :)
