HI
I see that others have posted about this issue over the years but I wanted to clarify a theory???
The gooseberry Invicta grew well last year (went in the ground early 2019) and i had gooseberries as well. It was huge and I didn't know anything about summer pruning.
I moved it in the winter and duly pruned it so it was a nice open shape. However now it looks really healthy with loads of growth on it but sadly No fruit. Is this because i didn't prune it last summer to allow it to develop spurs. Or the winter prune to provide it with a decent shape.
obviously come June I will reduce the side shoots back as ive seen directed
Any additional info gratefully received
