Well the compost heap has been emptied,  sieved through a course and a fine riddle and now it's being steralised in the microwave (12 minutes at full power)  this is after removing all worms and woodlice.  It doesn't smell at all, well very little and not like the stench we had to endure when steam steralizing soil in the agricultural class.
