Please see attached photo.. first year on an allotment so I don't know how old the tree is but every apple is like in the photo.

Any thoughts / recommendations?
Best just to chop it down ?

All those spots on the fruit are apple scab - there's advice on the RHS website here: https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=81

Scab can let in rot, like the other apple in your photo, but that looks like it's also been eaten at by insects, perhaps a wasp that has mined out that hole.

If it's your first year on the allotment then following the advice to clear up all the leaves and fruit, and disposing of them off-site, to break the cycle of re-infection, might help next year. The tree might have stood badly neglected last year, with no one to clear-up around it?

The scab damage is only on the skin, so it's worth peeling one of the apples and trying it to see if you like it and what type it is.  They won't store well with scab, but if you have time to peel and pulp them, you can always freeze blocks of pulp for use later.
