Asparagus second year

Hi chaps, second year and have left alone, lots of "fern" ... do I just leave well alone or cut back please ?

I'd leave the fern until it goes yellow then cut it off.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Only other point is to support the ferns in case of strong winds etc.
I use some canes with string wrapped around the ferns.
