One thing I found is that if Artemesia Powis Castle is in the area...nothing bothers the plants nearby. Only problem is that Powis Castle grows so large and eventually swamps other plants. Haven't tried other artemesias but in theory they should work.

As for nastrutiums, I'd put my money on the fact that they actually attract leaf miners to the garden so I won't grow them anymore. This year I'm buying an ecology friendly liquid dish soap and using that with some water to drown pests.
