There is an easy way to avoid this blight spray the plants occasionally with Bordeaux mix. I use it down here and it really does the job. It does not need to be used to excess just when required.

Bordeaux mix was banned by the EU in 2014, so we can't recommend its use on this Forum.

Up to you whether you still wish to use it of course.

Really ? I can buy at my local garden centre. Nearly every gardener down here uses it. I am confused do you mean it is banned for use by farmers or just in general ?

Its an EU wide ban for everyone.  No garden centres here sell it.

To be honest it is a while since I bought any I must be wrong about being able to buy it. Thing is you use so little of it a pack lasts for quite a few years. I have at least one more pack. Of course we people down here in France pay no heed to silly EU directives nearly everybody still uses the stuff and even though it may not be available to buy in a pack it is very easy to get the raw materials for its production ... it will be used for many a long year down here me thinks

If I remember correctly exceptions could be made by each country, to allow/restrict its use to organic vineyards only.

Not to be used by farmers/gardeners generally, but I know not everybody follows the rules 

Anyway it IS banned for us, so please don't recommend it here.
