cannellino beans / white kidney bean

Hi does anyone have experience with growing these ?
Just wondering how  much support they need  , they are described as a bush bean in our seed catalogue.
Thanks Paul

Be careful there, some climbing French beans do appear in some catalogues under dwarf! Check exact variety against Real seeds and Vicky's nursery to make sure. The French ones are usually less robust than runners but will need similar substantial support.

Dwarf ones usually stick up for themselves. Only a foot or so those are.

Just click on my blue link and find beans in the index, I think there is quite a bit up now about them. :)

I've tried them for the last two years, but won't be growing them for the next couple.  Each time, they've been hit with a fungal disease called Agna Rossa.  The same happened with Borlottis too.  I haven't found a treatment for them which isn't a really strong chemical, so will hang fire until I find something a bit kinder.

Yes, that's why I said to check exact variety, as these tend to be generic terms(red kidney, white kidney, etc), you get Barlotti x 40cm c., Barlotti y 2m plus.
