Corizus hyoscyami
« on: May 15, 2016, 21:21 »
Found this little fella on the plot this week. I thought perhaps it was a type of Lily Beetle but apparently it is a Corizus hyoscyami. It is suggested in some information that it doesn't have an English name as it has only relatively recently been found in the UK, in other places it s referred to as a 'cinnamon bug'. It doesn't have a specific food source and will eat a variety of native British plants so is not considered to be a potential pest.
