Would any of you knowledgeable folk be able to tell me if Mangetout and Sugar Snap peas are much less likely to suffer from the dreaded pea moth? Am located on the western outskirts of London and regular peas are not worth growing here unless under micro mesh. Can't be bothered with that this year so thought I'd give the other varieties a go? Thanks

Because you eat Mangetout while they are flat, before the peas have had a chance to develop - you'd never know if there were pea moth eggs or not!

In Sugarsnaps, which are eaten when they are fatter, I have only once noticed a maggot - notice the word noticed 
(How many I've not noticed is another matter  )

Thank you. I'll give both a go and see how they go. Pea moth seems to be really bad here, had a lovely crop of peas when I used the micro mesh but it was such a faff lol.
